Goats

Since the introduction of the Boer goat in the early 90's, meat goat production in the United States has soared. The Boer is the goat equivalent to Angus Beef and is rapidly moving onto rangelands once designated for sheep and cattle. Recent surveys have indicated that the US supply for goat meat will not meet demand for another 20 years. Boer goats are heavily muscled, grow rapidly and usually reach market weight of 100 -120 pounds by 7 months. Twins are very common in Boers along with triplets and quads. In the winter of 2005, we had 2 sets of twins, 1 set of triples, and 2 sets of quads. Believe it or not, both mothers raised their quads to weaning without having to be bottle fed. Weaning weights on the quads ranged from 31 - 39 pounds. We specialize in raising goats for 4H projects, striving to give 4Hers a competitive animal at a reasonable price. We have a combined percentage and full blood herd, with our herd sire Hulk being from enobled bloodlines.

2007 babies will be born in December thru January and available for sale in March with Purebred doelings starting at $250.00; fullbloods starting at $350.00 and bucklings at $150.00. Market wethers are priced at $100.00. All kids are disbudded.
